What sort of a church are you?
We are a diverse, thinking, caring congregation. We are made up of all sorts of people with a breadth of life experiences. Some of us live nearby and some of us travel to church from the surrounding area.
Find out more about what we believe.
Why do you have two church buildings?
Nexus was formed in 2001 by uniting Walcot Methodist Church and Claremont Methodist Church. Having two buildings gives us flexibility in our church activities and our outreach into the community.

Why Nexus?
The name 'Nexus' is derived from the latin word meaning 'to bind'. Our name also says a lot about us:
NE - Our Location
Both our church buildings are to the north east side of the city.
X - Our Mission
With Christ at the centre, our mission is to share the love of Jesus Christ with those around us.
US - Our Unity
We worship in two buildings but we are one church.
When do you meet?
Our main services are on Sundays at 10.30am (Walcot)and 11.00am (Claremont). Once a month we join for a united service at one of the buildings. See our Worship page for more about our pattern of worship and Services for details of services coming up.
What activities do you have for children?
- Babies & toddlers are welcome in worship (creche facilities at Walcot)
- Junior Church at 10.30am Walcot for ages 3 and up

Is it just Sundays?
No, there are various activities during the week -
